    Default Winter Wonder land

First snow fall of this winter and this kid had to get out in it. 35 degrees with light freezing rain the first hour. Didn't throw any snow balls but did throw some little jigs. Little gills and crappies were hungry at first lake but nothing decent so went to another lake and caught probably the smallest trout I've ever caught. Did catch a few decent size later. Lakes are starting to get ice on them so at least I knew what the water temps were, Cold !! Name: IMG_4689.jpg

That looks cold to this old Georgia boy. I can take the heat of the Deep South but my body now says to stay in the shop with the wood stove fired up and coffee boiling on the stove top.

Had to get that first trip in before it get's really cold next week with low's below 0 and highs in single digits. Snow and ice are gone for now but will be back next week. Surface ice on the lake was strange, a jig would sink through it but line wouldn't. Like having the whole lake to myself. If you dress properly you don't get too cold. I was fine until I moved to the first gazebo in the last pic. A big clump of melting snow fell from the top and landed on my shoulder, thought someone threw a snowball at first. When I brushed it off my gloves got wet, hands got cold and it was time to leave.

be careful jim on that walkway as I have seen dudes go down on it. Have seen a bunch of trout that size already. not sure why they stock them so tiny.
