    Default Tough trip(s)

I had a tough time at it today .
First I fished for about an hour at Lake McIntosh , the large water reservoir.
Good news was , the recent rain brought up the lake almost full pool .
Bad news , the wind was white capping across the lake almost directly into me .
Weather app said gusts to 25 , with a wind chill of 45 degrees .
I’m glad the sun was out , I wouldn’t have lasted the hour .
Left and went to the Town pond .
I tried to fish the corner where I caught fish last trip , but it was shaded and with the wind , I only lasted about fifteen minutes before I walked back around to the bridge side where it was sunny and most the time , the wind helped me with a few casts .
I mainly fished a variety of jigs under a snap on bobber , but couldn’t buy a bite .
I took off the float and was casting a 4mm tungsten beadhead jig with a black chenille collar and a chartreuse mini trout magnet body .
I was using my 6’6” St Croix Avid UL rod paired with a Shimano Nasci 500 body with a Soare BB500spg spool and handle , spooled with 2# CXX mist green P-Line .
I managed to keep the skunk off the last twenty minutes catching a couple of small bluegills .
I had two get off as I was trying to get the wind loop out of my line to set the hook .
The temps got up to low 50’s but with the wind it made it tough to stay out there .

When I got home I got to thinking I would try out some spoons and in-line spinners next trip , but couldn’t find my metal bait bag .
I’ve looked all over and can’t find it , and I figured out I’m actually missing two bags . The metal bait bag and a Fanny pack bag that I’m not sure what was in .
The only thing I can think happened is someone may have taken them when I had my oil changed about a month ago .
I used to keep my spinner bag in my Rav4 and would grab a small box of lures out of it if I wanted to fish lures .
It’s been awhile since I’ve fished any spinners or spoons .
I did find the small box that had the Daiwa spoons in it that Randy sent me . And a couple od spinners .
But I had a bag of at least six small Plano boxes of spinners and spoons .
I hope it turns up around here but I’ve looked everywhere it might be . Twice .

Tough conditions to fish in but good job not being skunked. Hopefully your bags turn up and we’re not stolen. I hate thieves!

    Thanks Dave !
    I hope it’s just a case of a forgetful old man . lol !
Since my truck got totaled and we have gone to a one vehicle family , I hate having to load and unload every time I go fishing.

I found the Fanny pack , empty.
At least that mystery been solved .
Still missing a bunch of spinners and some of my spoons .
I’ll keep looking. I sure I’ve put them where I thought was an easy place to remember .
Meanwhile, I guess I’ll start building some more spinners as I get time .

    Got tougher today .
I had almost an hour while the better half was getting her cut .
Mostly fished a few homemade in-line spinners and a couple of spoons before ending up throwing a jig for a few casts .
    Just didn’t happen.
The whole time I fish the spinners and spoons I was wishing I was twitching a jig .
Results probably would have been the same, but I would have had more confidence in the jig .
    I’m afraid I’m becoming a one trick pony .
But I know what works for me and if I’m not throwing jigs , I don’t feel like I’m fishing. .
Plan to meet up with my fishing buddy tomorrow at the big reservoir.
This is the time of the year we usually catch one or two spotted bass , sometimes a hybrid will sneak up on us ,

An update on the missing tackle , I’ve found part of the spoons and spinners ,but they weren’t in the bag they used to be in , so I’m guessing I switched things around and forgot I had done it .
Still missing several homemade spinners, but I can make more .
