Hate it was another tough day for you. Glad you found the baits. Misplaced is easier to handle than stolen. Hopefully tomorrow is a good day for you.
Hate the bite was tougher, but I can relate to the "one trick pony" and having confidence in a particular bait, big joke in the last bass fishing club I was in, the other members would say "if he (talking about me) ever puts on a 4" watermelon lizard it's over", that little bait would flat put them in the boat when all else failed, really it was just a matter of down-sizing for tougher bites
the missing baits, maybe you'll find them when you get replacements, seem like that's what I do when I can't find a tool, go buy another and when I go to put it up find the previously missing one at least I'll have a spare
the "high-light of my day was while burning one of my brush piles had a pair of bald eagles fly over the northwestern corner of our property
always love seeing them

I keep a log of my catches , nothing elaborate, just numbers of different species caught .
I checked last year December and January’s catches and most of my fish catches anywhere other than the Town pond weren’t good at all . One or two fish .
Pond catches weren’t all great but overall were better .
Guess it’s because, even though the cold nights cool off the pond more than the large bodies of water , the rise in daytime temperatures warm the water back up during the day .
I’m glad I have a great fishing hole close to the house .
