    Default No Wind ?

I got to the Town pond this morning around 10:30 and fished until noon .
There was no wind ! How can this be ?
I fished a slip float a mini trout magnet for almost an hour , at various depths, without a nibble .
Out of desperation, I switched over to a black hand tied jig and was on my third cast , felt a tap and caught a 7” bluegill to keep the skunk away .
I fished my 7’ 13 Fishing Defy Silver rod with a Daiwa 1000 LT that I just got my shallow spool yesterday.
I had ordered four shallow spools from Hedgehog for my four LT 1000 Legalis reels . They hold the perfect amount of 2# line , IMO .
Enough to handle a long run if needed .

After lunch , even though cloudy , the temperature was in the mid to upper fifties and the wind had stayed fairly mild . Just an occasional light breeze.
I decided since rain is predicted the next three days , I was going to try the Pond again .
I got there a little after three and fished until 4:30 .
The sun came out about thirty minutes before I left.
I fished one of my 6’3” Abu Garcia MB3 paired with a 23 Daiwa Legalis LT2000sp , one of the new Legalis . The 2000sp is a 4.8/1 retrieve shallow spool version.
A nice reel , especially for the cost .
I mainly fish the Mini TM under a Trout Magnet float rigged as a slip float .
I caught two shellcracker, one an eight incher and an eight and an half inch bluegill .
About thirty minutes a fish . Sounds about right for winter fishing .
I’ll take it . I’ve been skunked too many times .

I think I do better with a little wind , but it felt nice when the sun came out about four o’clock.

Good job, both times. Sure beats the skunk.

I'll send you the wind I had today, been on tractor all day trying to get some much needed dirt work done before the wet weather gets a grip, Air temps today low-mid 50's but the breeze made it feel cool on my old bones

Looks like you had a Better day fishin, than I did playin in the dirt at least I didn't tear anything up

BTW, hoping the rain gets the pond back up, I need it

Although the rain interrupts my fishing , the pond and both of the local reservoirs are down and need some refilling .

I’ll be watching football Saturday anyways , the day with the most rain expected.
