Default Got down to 32 last night

Got down to freezing last night .
Cold nights chill shallow ponds quickly making it tough fishing even with the sun out .
I got to the Town pond a little after noon , it was 47 degrees , when I left just before 2:30 , it had made it up to a balmy 51 .
Well, it would have been had it not been for the wind @12 mph gusting to 26 .
I tried fishing the shaded side but the wind was just too much .

I continue trying out different rods with the micro slip float method .
Today the first up , and the best of the two , was a 7’ 13 Fishing Envy Silver UL .
If I could catch the wind just right , my rig would almost reach the aerator I wanted to fish .
I pulled three bluegills away from those bubbles , with two of them just under the nine inch mark .
The other rod , a 7’ St Croix Premier UL was just too noodlely . My rig fell at least 10-15’ short every cast .
Both rods wore Carbon X reels and 2# line .,
Lure was a 1/80 Waspi jighead with two turns of black ,small, chenille to make a head and take up space where a mini trout magnet slipped right up against the chenille, put the hook bend right between V of the MTM .
    Color was black/chartreuse .

Today was definitely a challenge, more so than yesterday.
I enjoy a challenge, if I can keep the skunk away .

Supposed to be 17 here tonight. I’m trying to protect the best I can plants in greenhouse. Not much I can do at this point. I brought in my most prized plants…lol. Others I’m gambling on their survival.

Good luck keeping them alive. Need a space heater or a wood stove in there .
Usually when we have early cold weather like this , it turns back warm around Christmas through the first of the year . Then a couple weeks of who knows what , then rainy early spring.

Beautiful catches. Nice job pulling those out around the weather.

Yeah I’m not holding my breath but I insulated the best I could and wrapped everything up in the greenhouse in blankets. No big loss if they die. My valuable plants are inside.
