    Default Wooly worm Winter predictions

I found this little guy crossing the path as I was walking around the lake .

I looked up how to tell how rough the winter is going to be by using the wooly bear caterpillars .

“ The longer the woolly bear's black bands, the longer, colder, snowier, and more severe the winter will be. Similarly, the wider the middle brown band is associated with a milder upcoming winter. The position of the longest dark bands supposedly indicates which part of winter will be coldest or hardest.”

Looks like we’re going to have a mild winter with cooler weather at the beginning and at the end .
That explains why it’s cooler than normal now .

    Get your shovel ready !
This was my second one . The first one somebody had stepped on the first one. But it had similar coloring .
I hope mine holds true. I’d like to fish at a least a couple times a week.

I heard if you find them in a warm light rain, mild winter. Find them frozen under 18"of snow in a 25mph wind, severe winter.

Send it here too! Didn't have much of an ice fishing season last year.

I don’t really like the cold so much as the snow…
