I can't wait to see a report on your next order from Digitaka. Good luck on your attempt to curtail your search.

    I’m trying ! LOL!
I’ve cancelled my last two orders from Digitaka and a couple from Amazon .

After deciding my Abu Garcia Mass Beat III rods are the rod I’ve always been searching for . I haven’t bought another rod since .
I need to do the same with my reels .
I do have a thing for spinning reels . And Daiwa is supposed to be coming out with a new Fuego

Nice equipment is always a temptation. You just have to stay off those web sites.

    Default Update

I got some supplies yesterday and a few more today .
Last night I attempted to swap out the bushing in the line roller in a Daiwa Fuego
LT 1000d but need the washers (shims) to make that work .
While on the subject of the Fuego , today I pulled the handle knob to put in bearings and found it already had an inside and outside bearing .
I knew I liked those reels . I always thought they were some of the smoothest I’ve owned .

Next , I pulled handle knob off one of the Shimano Nasci 500’s I installed the Hedgehog bearing kit in the line roller .
To my surprise it had a bearing on the outside , but a bushing on the inside , so I added a bearing to the inside of the knob with a drop of Lucas reel oil .
    Smooth as butter !
Then I pulled the knob off the handle of a Shimano Sahara 500, I found two bushings.
I replaced both bushings with bearings and a drop of Lucas , and added a .1mm shim/washer to the outside , under the knob screw .
I hope to try out the Nasci 500 tomorrow.
May take the Sahara and if I find time , swap out reels .
Usually the walk back to the designated parking spots are 80-100 yards from where we fish , so I try to limit my trips .
It was nice to find out some of my reels already had some bearings in key areas .
Oh I checked some of the line rollers that had bushings , using a toothpick to spin the line roller . They moved pretty easy to me .
I’m not sure the line roller bushings are worth it as much as it is tightening up the handle knobs .
I probably could have gotten by with a few shims .
