depends on if your fish are actually in a fall pattern is my thoughts , bigger bream tend to be deeper when the water chills here and often times go into sit down in deep water brush in these parts .
tiny jigs with worm tidbits in water around 20 foot deep here .

Glad I decided to go today.I didn't get out until after 12pm and wasn't going. But, the sun was out, in the 7 0's and breezy - conditions that won't last long and especially in NY in late Oct.. The 10 mph steady wind caused me to find wind-sheltered areas. A cove to the east fit the bill. I hadn't surveyed the bottom and was very surprised at what I found including this large pickerel early on caught on a tiny spike tail that had caught a doz. fish the day before:
As I worked parallel to shore, I had to watch out for large rock that were usually in 5'.
Way back in the cove, mixed schools were found in 3' to the tune of over 45 fish in 3 hours.The outflow, still emptying water, was amazing with the number of fish milling around. Better quality perch, sunfish and crappie hit 4 different lures.

I sat there catching fish after fish and in only 3 FOW. No pads nor vegetation, just a rocky hard bottom. Tomorrow's another day - one in the 70's that will change dramatically in 24 hours. May as well enjoy it while the bite is amazing.

Yesterday close to 100 fish, most caught in two locations in large schools along with occassional bass and pickerel. The thing is: will they be concentrated in shallow water once the lake starts filling Nov.1? The fall pattern on this lake requires much cooler water and a normal depth. (Air temperature has been 50 degrees at night to 76 degrees daytime for 4 days!) Gotta say though, it's been a ball catching fish after fish while anchored in one spot. (Note the bass jig trailer rigged on a 1/16 oz jig that caught everything - even sunnies!)
What blew me away was catching a yellow perch, bringing it to the boat to be unhooked and then a large pickerel chomped on as I was lifting the fish thereby losing the fish and my lure!That's never happened to me before.
Another question: will all the different lures I caught fish on yesterday and the days before it still be as successful once conditions normalize?
