Nice catch and a real good find.
Bob
found it a month or so ago , was hand netting fish for our aquarium .
was setting some free as they grow up and become tooooo many for the tank .
decided to release this stage back where they came from .
took an xtreme light set up and for sure ....
KABOOM on panfish till you get tired of it .....
only stayed about 30 or 40 minutes and managed around 30 .
WOW is flat out full of fish .....no crappie best I can tell though
4 kids 2 dads and me just slinging them bluegills with a steady mix of bass for the dads
pretty pleasing to see such an abundance of fish to ketch right in the middle of town .
nothing in the whale category , but there are likely larger fish in there ....maybe
used to be a golf course back when and got repurposed to be a huge dog park .
google maps says 9 ponds , I hit 2 for grins really quickly about 10 30 am ....
simplicity is pretty fun for sure close to home ,,,,,
KABOOM is near

I love golf course ponds. Done very well in some of them in the past. Cemeteries too, but those can be dicey, trespassing and all.

Every Tuesday back about 45 years ago in a place called las Colinas, I had a deal with my then girlfriend’s parents to get thru security to hit the pond on the golf course in their back yard .
All I had to do was take her little brother. We used to have us a weee tournament thing going on .
You had to cast like you mean it and try to ketch a fish , the winner was whoever DIDNT ketch one first …..not kidding about that either.
Around 1980 was when and that little shack they owned on that there golf course ,cost 3.3 million !
It was just unbelievable how many 12 to 14 inch bass were in there , no clue how that many could be in one pond , we used 4 inch black plastic worms ….ridiculous good stuff

Years ago one my neighbors worked for a wealthy guy who's home backed up to Turtle Creek in Dallas. You could catch 1-4lb largemouths all day if you wanted. This was around 1975 and none of those rich folks fished. I only got to go once but gave my old Mitchell 300 with a fiberglass rod a good work out. The thing I remember is the president came to town and they (secret service I am assuming) wired his home up for security nerve center. The president was only in town for like 3 hours and when he left they left all the wiring in place. My dad and neighbor had to go and clean it out and that's how the found out about the bass Turtle Creek held.
