    Default Colors

Haven’t been feeling up to par for a couple of weeks. Took care of some chores yesterday and didn’t think I’d feel up to going this morning so I didn’t connect like I usually do. Felt a little better this morning so after sitting around for a while I loaded up and headed out. It was 8 when I grabbed a breakfast sammich on the way to the ramp at Lemon Bluff. More exploration than anything was in my mind. There’s a good sized backwater that I haven’t fished in a few years I wanted to try. It’ll be a while before I go back. Not much going on but I bet it will be hopping come spring.

Spent too long there and tried to find the other way out of this place and got turned around, wasting a little more time. Made a 20 minute run to where Nino and I went to a few weeks back. Wasn’t stellar there either but I did get more activity there. What struck me was the color difference from where I normally fish to here. You’ve seen enough of my pics to see what I’ve spoken of before, but these today though small were darker than I’m used to seeing. Didn’t get but about a dozen of the usual victims today and none were of keeper size. Finished up and headed for the ramp and enjoyed the ride. Got about a hundred yards from the ramp and here come the dime sized drops from a sunny sky, seems like one cloud was crying. Start to finish was two minutes and no more. Just enough to soak my shirt and shorts. Here’s some of the visitors , hope y’all had a good day. Someone please rotate the goofy pic please.

    Pretty fish !
    Nice colors to those .
I spent the last couple days working on a couple of my bicycles. Trying to get back to riding some and was setting them up for comfortable easy rides.
I’ll be sore for a few days. Hands can’t handle wrenching like they used to. .
Hope you get out of slump soon and feeling better .

Nice catches, Skeet! Lately here been hard to buy a bite, especially with artificial. I feel a urge coming fall feeding frenzy at the SoCal piers anytime soon...lol. Tight line, all!

looks like a productive trip, and glad you're feeling a little better, I'm also guilty of "over-committing" on "spots" all to often

Colors do make a difference. I use to chart every trip I made fishing.
was amazing how weather and water clarity made such a big difference. But the same colors for same environment
would always be the same. There were slower days that I changed colors but always came back to to proven past

Know where you're coming from. Been dealing with muscle and joint aches. Not getting much sleep when I feel that way. But at least the fish'ns been real good even though the majority of fish caught were small to medium in size. Like the lures in Skeetbum's photo, the Beetle Spin and curl tails have been producing big time - lures I haven't used in quite some time.
