    Default Shellcrackers

Took the kiddo (3 years old) fishing and got into some redear aka shellcrackers in a local pond. Biggest one was probably 12 in. Put up a good fight on the UL rod. Caught them using worms on a cricket hook with split shot. Haven’t caught a redear this big before. I had to be careful not to break the 4lb test when they were pulling drag! Picture doesn’t do them justice, but I think biggest one was probably close to 2 lbs. maybe 1.5 or 1.75 Name: IMG_2871.jpg

Smile on the faces says everything...Always a good thing to get them interested in the outdoors young. Great Job for sure. Those are some dandy shellcrackers too.
