Today proved interesting: fewer lures caugh many fish.
Spike tails were the only lures I used in water 4' deep. I knew the lake was being lowered to work on the docks by home owners but not by this much! Fish were finicky at times and nipped at the tails. Solution: reduce the length of the grub and switch from a 1/32 oz jig to a 1/64 oz. - at least until they came to their senses LOL.
(One was caught on a pearl cone tail.)
