    Default Last couple of days

I’ve been out the last couple of days but I haven’t been setting the world on fire. Nino, on the other hand, took me to school yesterday. He’s got his boat back in action and it looks good since it’s facelift and repair.Name: IMG_4604.jpg

Everything he did went a little slower but otherwise as planned. As I left the house yesterday my wife called and told me to look east. This woman has a good eye.

By the time I got to the ramp it was over but I love the painted mornings. I’ve always been a morning person and this is one of the benefits. Temps were below 80* and it was just nice to be out after the heat wave and storm. My neighborhood did very well with nothing more than a few branches down. It seemed to be Nino’s day and mine was just slow. I caught some but he caught like 50. I wasn’t holding my mouth right or something. I don’t think either of us got any crappie, I’m sure I didn’t. I did get a nice little LMB on the Phenix that gave me an extra hard time. Good thing I was able to get him away from all the snags.

Once again my catch was heavy with red breasted sunfish. These things have an attitude.

Got close to noon and we had been spit on once but it didn’t last and the clouds started building again and by the time I noticed it and said let’s go we were about 20 minutes late. Got our butts wet and these drops were big. Got home and got dry and got lunch and got a nap. Pretty good ending to an ok day out.

I went to another area today and sure enough, Nino pulled out of the ramp not long after I did. I also ran into Slimjim at the ramp. Seems he was going to class with his Ipilot. Something I need to do. With the full moon I was hoping to find the fish a bit more active than yesterday but just the opposite was the case. At best it was about the same. I did get a few to bring home to satisfy the taste for a fish sammich that I’ve had for a week or so. I had some fish kept on Tuesday but met a gent at the ramp that hasn’t been doing well finding any fish. Nice enough guy and while I spoke to him it came to mind to send my four fish home with him and take mama to lunch. He was thrilled! It took five today to get what I thought was a good meal. 2 crappie about 11” and three good bluegill, none of which reached 9”. Hit the spot! It just tasted extra good today for some reason, and I’ve got leftovers. Once again we all pulled before noon and headed home. Nino said he learned something today, don’t fish behind Tim. Said he only got three from those efforts. We talked a while at the ramp and I headed home to clean fish and put the boat on charge. I might go tomorrow but I may sleep late too. Hope y’all enjoy the holiday weekend. My vacation is over and it’s back to the grind come Monday. Yes, we work Monday. Maybe I’ll see you out sometime soon. Til then……..Skeet

    Nice story Tim .
    Nice pictures too!
Nino’s boat is looking sharp .
I got a couple of old Eagle depth finders on my boat with a transducer on the back and one on the TM .
I use them for to look for creek channels , drop offs , etc. And the temp . That was the most important feature back when I’d fish when it was cold .
Wouldn’t know what to do with anything fancier.
    Thanks for the ride along.

Great write up and pics. Pretty days on the water, relaxing and didn’t get skunked, sounds perfect even though it wasn’t exactly what you hoped for. Thanks for sharing.
