    Default New Rod Sliming

I took the newest 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat III out for its first sliming this morning.
Paired it up with a Shmano Nasci 500 and some 2# Floroclear.
Nothing but handtied jigs today .
I caught ten total including bluegills, warmouth, green sunfish and an ultralight fun size bass that put the rod to a good test .
Bites were spread out this morning, but when one did decide to take , they took it . Had to use the hemostats on a few of them . The jigs were completely inside their mouths. I don’t think I need to worry about the size 10 jighooks being too big .
Fun two hours with overcast skies for a change . Slightly cooler than it has been.

Sounds like a fun trip. I’m thankful for the cooler weather too.

That's a good way of getting it slimed up.
If you cast it they will come.

Good job sliming the new stick. I like the jig, good colors and size. I can help you get the rubber not to flare if you want. I tie both ways. The Palmer is a nice touch. Glad it was a fun trip

I just remembered, I caught the most on this particular jig then lost it .
I’ll be tying up a couple of these .
Probably tomorrow morning with the rain moving in tonight .
    It’ll be a good tying day .

Nice catches. I like the jig too. Did you make up the pattern or copy something?
