Really like the hand tie and crappie will like that color too. How long are they? I like tying mine around an inch in length with all the fry in the lakes now. Black, brown, olive grizzly and a baitfish color like a drake mallard flank feathered jig are my main colors for gills and redear. I add scent to mine, makes a big difference for me. #1 scent for me is Berkley power wigglers cut into tiny pieces. With those bass in the area I don't blame those gills for not wanting to bite. Yesterday I had three take my hooked gills within 10 foot of the bank but didn't land any, got two jumps with two before they threw the bluegill back at me.

Can’t believe I didn’t post when I first read this. That’s a good result to a good jig. I like it. They like em fine down here when the color is right, and yours seems to be right. Lots tougher than plastics. Depending on the fish I like mine shorter also. My longer jigs and bodies get lots of hits but less hook ups.

    I’m still experimenting.
I got boxes of micro jigs I’ve tied , most on 1/100 and 1/80 jigs . But couldn’t cast them without a float .
I’ve tried tried tying some on 1/16 regular jigheads , but the hooks were too big .
With the tungsten beads on these jig hooks I’m getting a jig I can cast 40-50’ . And they’re sharper .
I also used the suggestion about using some thread to stop the bead from sliding on the ones I use for plastics .
After wrapping behind the bead , I put a drop of UV glue inside the bead hole on top of the thread ball to lock it all in .
I think it’s going work pretty good .

The wraps behind the bead helps it last longer. I have had the bead come loose on some that just had UV resign.

I’ve started just wrapping behind the bead with a little Sally Henson on the wrap . Not as messy as UV and holds better .
