This outing was specifically meant for post spawning sunfish, LM bass, and some dinky carps...lol. The home-made rod was really meant for them and micros, like club, shad, and minnows if present in my home waters. Who'd known the catfish would hit size 14 elk hair dry fly as well...haha.

I need to throw the drop shot more . It’s been awhile since I’ve used it .

It's very effective for fish with tiny mouth. Trout magnet also good, since only type of jigheads I have at the moment. However lately I'm deterred because of lake algae growth....I lost too many..lol.

....for this reason alone, top water cranks and long dropshot is more preferable for now, Gill.Name: 20230811_183643.jpg

That is an od build but pretty is as pretty does, and it’s beautiful. Good mixed bag. Glad you got out and didn’t melt.

Skeet, at the pond it was only 96 degree again yesterday evening so I went and try to find couple more fighters for these Xxul home contraptions. I brought 2 rods this time to play and ended up with handful of fast running carps and a few other honorable mentions...Name: 20230813_164459.jpg
