Town Pond Update
I stopped fishing the Town Pond over a month ago .
I usually do every year because it gets pretty nasty this time of year with all of the runoff and the stinking geese that have taken up residence there , especially during nesting time .
This year the town finally noticed and posted this on the local Facebook page.
Please be aware that Town staff recently noticed algae growth in Shamrock Park Pond that may be harmful to pets and people - there is evidence to suggest that blue-green algae may be present in the water. While the Town awaits conclusive lab results to see if there is algae present at levels which may be harmful to people or pets, we ask that vou please take the following
precautions when you visit Shamrock Park Pond: • Please keep people, especially children, and pets out of the water, especially in areas
where you see algae growing.
• Please do not let vour pet drink the pond water.
Please wash your hands after releasing any fish caught at the pond.
That’s why I always sanitize my hands when getting back to my car after fishing there .
