    Default Finally got out

I’ve been nursing a sore neck and right shoulder for a week . I don’t know how I’ve injured it , but it’s been a nagging pain all week . Finally tried some Voltaren gel and it allowed me to go fishing this morning for a couple of hours .
I took my new 5’ St Croix Avid ULF paired with a Daiwa Fuego LT1000 and J-Braid X8 gray light in .003” diameter.
I fished a variety of lures including a beetlespin , a Bobby Garland Itty Bit Swim’r , and a few different Trout Magnets .
The fishing was and the weather was hot , overcast , and muggy . I never do that well when it’s cloudy .
I managed to catch eleven small fish , two green sunfish , three warmouths , three crappies, and three small bluegills.
I took along my 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat 3 and tried it with the reel off the Avid for awhile and was getting about the same distance casting as with the 5’ Avid . So I finished up with the Avid because it seemed to be more sensitive and was more fun with the little ones .
It was good to get out again .

Sorry to hear about your pain. I’ve been dealing with sore back this week myself. Glad you were able to get out some and fish. Pretty catches and nice rod and reel setups. Thanks for sharing

Thanks guys for all of the well wishes .
The neck is better but still hurts enough to be aggravating.
Not sure how it got out of whack , unless it was all of that driveway casting I was doing .

First, hope you’re better soon. No one likes a nag and a nagging pain is the worst.
You did about as good as I did. I slept late and leisurely got to the ramp near 8 and was headed home about 10:15. Nothing like last week but got enough activity to make me happy. Glad you got out and got a few before the incessant heat ran you off.

I spent 80% of my time fishing in one spot , off a small dock .
Just sat on my fishing stool and would change lures then switched rods . The last twenty minutes or so I moved down the bank a little and caught four of the eleven casting up and down the rip rap that has been exposed from a drop in lake level of at least a foot in the last couple of weeks.
Sitting here now with my heat pad on my neck .
Sure does take longer for something to heal when you get older .

That Voltaren is good stuff. I get Diclofenac which is an ingredient in Voltaren prescribed by my doctor for my Arthritic issues. Glad you felt well enough to go fishing.

I used to take diclofenac tablets for my arthritis. Only thing that actually helped relieve my arthritis pain.
Took it for about four years and the doctor took me off of it .
    I miss it .
