In TN a 10 inch bluegill is a trophy. Over the past 15 years or so the odds of getting a 10 inch bluegill have gone way down. A nine inch fish used to be just everyday. Nowadays it is an 7-8 inch fish that is everyday.

    Regards

Did you measure that one? Looks like at least 11 ". Here in Missouri my biggest was 10.5" and weighed 1-05 but that was about 25 years ago. Been a long time since I hit the 10" mark. Occasionally I get a couple that will be over 9". Your fish is the biggest northern strain gill that I've seen in awhile. I did catch a 12" Coppernose in California a few years back. Congrats on your PB.

This old photo was found in a old HTC phone. Caught in year 2016 before my slow collection of true JDM ultralight gears. That was my PB bluegill then and still is...8"ish! Since then 5 to 6 turn up regularly.
