Thanks to GillChaser999 I tried some Diawa J8 Grand in 6lb test. I got a new rod today that I thought it would be a great fit to try the line on. The rod is a 7' Bonehead Tackle carbon fiber spinning rod. For a reel I used a Diawa Legalis 1000. I added some Trilene XL 6lb. mono I had laying around for backing. I filled the spool to the estimated halfway mark and finished it off with braid. To the end of the braid I attached a leader of Trilene XL 4lb. mono.

The rod is rated as light and the tip is definitely fast! The carbon fiber rods are a bit stiffer, but are suppose to excel in sensitivity. I tied on a 1/16 oz. jig head with a jig spinner attached and used a Slider Fishing 1" grub. I was NOT prepared for the casting distance this setup was going to yield! My first cast overshot by about 30' feet and ended up WAY back in the reeds! (where it currently remains!)

The sensitivity with the carbon fiber rod and the braid is unbelievable! It is so sensitive I can feel if the little tail on the Slider 1" grub is fouled on the hook and not flopping. Now, I just have to teach myself to do hook sets with just a flick of the wrist! Let's just say, I screwed a few hook sets up!
