Well as you have seen I use them both. Which is better? That is a question I can't honestly answer, because I do so good on both of them. They both have their place and they both continually produce for me. In my opinion the Panfish Magnet is more of a slow it down finesse fishing bait. The Slider can be cast and retrieved at a faster pace. Tonight was a Leeland only lure night for me and I really did well. Two days ago was a Slider only night and I really did well. They are both winners in my book!

Still having Leland days. But caught a couple on Charlie brewer yesterday. It was ‘one after another’ action on Trout Magnet and Itty Bitty Slab H’ntr (trying for the first time). Haven’t found a bite like that since spring. So, I’m pretty happy heading into the new week.

About dying the tails, I use spike it dye with garlic scent. Also comes in red, blue and other colors. DO NOT spill it on the boat carpet. Please don’t ask me why. Bass guys use the spike it stuff, I kinda robbed it from them

My new method is to throw the Slider 1" Grub on a 1/32 or 1/16 jig head with the modified Beetle Spin spinner. If the panfish are aggressive they will smack this every time. If they follow, peck, or nip at the tail, I pick up my second rod with a Panfish Magnet and hammer them. This has worked almost perfectly for me the past three days. Sometimes they need that slow finesse from the Panfish Magnet. If they don't need that, I would rather use the 1" Slider Grub. Either way both are effective. I also found that if you want to finesse the Slider 1" Grub, the 1/64 Trout Magnet jig heads are a perfect fit. Note, Trout Magnet jig heads, NOT Panfish Magnet jig heads. The hoods on the Panfish Magnet jig heads are too long for the 1" grub.

I've been using the spike it too, Left over from Bass fishing tricks, the spots love chartreuse, as for the sliders, I have had my best day with them on an old road bed in 6-8' FOW and dragging them as painstakingly slow as humanly possible, but every one of them ate it before it made the trip into deeper water 12', but as my Buddy said, "don't stick a dirty toe in the water today if you don't want to get bit" but the only way they would eat it was SLOW SLOW SLOW

I catch about the same on the 1 inch sliders (use black only )and mainly on a underspin of sorts . I have better luck on crappie magnets casting with or without a float .
