    Default San Diego panfish

last couple trips to my local lakes.
tried out a couple new ultra lite rods.
phenix mirage 7’1” and a st. Croix panfish 6’9”.
so far I like them, the phenix is lighter action.

Those are great fish!! That gills genuine stud material. Can you tell us more about the phenix rod? They have my interest. Was it bought complete or a build? Thanks.

I got a rod built one on the 6’7” Mirage blank. It has a moderate action, perhaps even slow. I believe blank is very durable. Sensitivity is decent, but I wouldn’t say out of this world (after having laid hands on a few area trout and light game rods).

From what I’ve heard, it’s a very popular trout rod in Southern California. I like it for crappie.

    Skeetbum,
They are off the rack rods, I have the mirage, and a couple elixir rods 8'6".
The elixers are a little more fast action, haven't fished them much.
A friend owned a tackle shop, and the rep.wanted him to carry them he gave them to me to try.
I bass fish as well and really like the ultra mbx s706 model.
7'6" med/fast i throw a thin senko weightless it wears them out.

    Tight lines
Thanks skeetbum thanked you for this post
