    Default Beating the Heat

Got up early (for me) and got to lake McIntosh around 9:25 . The temp was already 80 when I arrived, with very little wind . The air was hazy . We have an air quality alert until tomorrow morning. Unhealthy for Sensitive groups.
But I want to fish !
It actually didn’t seem that bad . I’m out there most days for a couple hours and guess I’m use to it .
My fishing spots are usually in the sun and I wear long sleeves and a wide brim hat .
I took one rod , my 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat III travel rod , but today I paired it up with a Shimano Soare BB 500spg and 2# Floroclear.
I had a streamer hook jig with a sowbug Trout Magnet already tied on where I was checking out the casting distance yesterday afternoon.m
I caught several small shellcrackers ,a small crappie , and a nice bluegill before losing my jig to a snag .
    I switched over to a micro spinner , then a 1g Daiwa spoon , then a 2g spoon , but didn’t get a bit .
Guessing they wanted plastics , I switched back to a streamer hook jig and a black Bobby Garland Itty bit Swim’r and struggled, catching one small fish .
I switched over to a bison TM and started catching fish agin including a nice shellcracker and a green sunfish.
Quite a variety today , catching 15 total . Not bad for a hot morning. Beats sitting at home .
I left at 11am and the car temp read 90 in the parking lot. Forecasting 96 today .
    Time to get home .

Nice, sounds like a good trip but they made you work some for them.

I like the combo, just good looking. And you’re gonna keep it up and I’m gonna get jealous of those crackers you guys find. I’m lucky to get two. In a couple of weeks. Nice pics.

I get up at 6:30 every morning. It just takes me awhile to get going. Gets harder everyday!

I retired 7 years ago and try not to get up before 7 although my aches and bladder say otherwise….
