First off, glad to hear about the good procedure. I’ve gotten good news from my last few Dr visits, and my A1c is down enough that I’m now pre diabetic. I too know about small successes.
Now to the rods. Mine is a 5’6” with cork handles and has to be about ten or more years old. When I got back to Florida I tried to get another, I’ve got a thing for pairs too, and found that they had changed the rod and the new one was way softer and I found it unpleasant to handle. I hope yours are still in good enough shape to put an occasional smile on your face. I like the grip/seat on the one in the pic. I really enjoy mine but the line lay is really ugly between the guides. I’ve thought about adding a couple of guides and redoing it but if I haven’t broken it thus far with 5 lb bass and other bigger fish I’m not sure that it can be broken. I scrubbed the cork and put some new line on It a while back. Took a rag with some acetone on it and wiped the blank and it looks really good. If you need any surgery on any of them to make em right, let me know.
