Default Mill creek and Lake McIntosh revisit

I took off this morning to check out the old mill creek I sometimes fish .
My suspicions were confirmed, with all of the rain lately the creek was up and running fast .
Since I was there , and had a new rod that I was anxious to try out,I decided to throw the micro spinner a few casts .
I caught a couple of small redbreasts , one tiny , and then bubba shows up with his one ounce spinnerbait and baitcaster.
He gets out of his Jeep walks downstream of me about 20-25 feet and flings a cast almost directly in front of me . A couple of choice words about etiquette and I packed up and headed to lake McIntosh . The fishing wasn’t worth getting into an argument over .
Todays weather was sunny and getting warm .
I spent a little over an hour fishing McIntosh and caught twenty eight fish . Some little ones , some were fun on the new St Croix 5’6” Avid paired up with a Daiwa Fuego LT 1000 .
The new rod did not disappoint. It allowed me to make casts up to fifty feet if I timed the wind right . And had a nice bend even with the potato chip gills . Most were bluegills , but I also caught three small crappie .
I had another nice bass grab one of my gills and gave me a couple minutes of long runs and a jump , before throwing up the gill . The poor gill was almost scaled but swam off .
I also caught a few of the fish on my SC 5’6” Premier ULF paired with a Shimano Soare BB c2000spg , which was also on its first fishing trip . The combo worked great . The reel is butter smooth and has a great drag . This is what I had the bass on , the rod and reel protected the 2# line . At one time I was afraid I might get spooled with the shallow spool capacity, but had plenty.
I think the sunny day made the difference today , they do call them sunfish for a reason .
The biggest bluegill had a nice helmet head going on .

Nice. Good pics and fish. Would have been awesome if you’d landed the bass. I’m sure that was fun.

It was Dave , this was the second time this has happened in the past week.
    Fun while they’re on though.

That’s awesome. I haven’t been fortunate to have it happen to me yet.

Mighty fine catches. No need in arguing. He would have gotten tired on being tangled and having to re tie eventually

I also like the looks of both outfits. I’d need to handle the Soare outfit. I know it’s not giant but I’m stuck on the 500 size stuff. I’d like to have watched the show with the bass, I bet it was fun.
