Default What’s going on with the bite ?

All of a sudden it’s like pulling teeth to catch much of anything .
Tuesday’s trip to a major reservoir was disappointing.
Yesterday’s short trip to the town pond was ok .
And today , I was back at Lake McIntosh and after over two hours of beating the water , I wound up with three tiny gills , a small redbreast, and a small bass to save the day .
I see gills follow my lures but they don’t bite .
Did most of the fish go on summer vacation as soon as summer was declared ?
You know me , I don’t mind catching the little ones , but even they seem to be on break .
The best of the trip .

I’m guessing the weather has them off a little bit.

Normally I’d tell ya to downsize and slowdown, but you already know that. I was just looking at some powerbait nymph baits that might make a difference. But before that I’d put some slab sauce on. It works for me and I never leave home without it.

summer fish can be finicky creatures , the water temps climb and they tend to be not so interested in hammering , might be the abundance of food available and or some other factor such as uncomfortable water temps ....
we find the bigger bream to be really pecking in some spots like little bream , some peck so light you would swear its a 4 incher and it comes up to be a 9 incher .....

My spot is dead and has been so for over a week or so. Going after trout at end of the week on White River up at Cotter. But…when I get back I’m going boat hunting. The shell cracker have obviously moved deep on Bald Knob Lake and I need a boat to go after them.

    Regards
