I’ve gotta tell you that I love the reelseat/grip on that rod. Just looks good and comfy. Good job on the fish, excellent numbers. My day was frustrating, I like yours better.
Dropped my wife at the hair salon and took my 5’6” Daiwa Iprimi XXUL fishing today .
I paired it up with a KastKing Kestrel SFS reel with 2# Floroclear for super lightweight setup.
The Kestrel matched the Iprimi pretty good.
I didn’t expect to catch anything big , and I didn’t, but the twenty three fish I caught in less than forty minutes gave me a big smile and a lot of fun .
I fished a tiny spinner I had bought last year and hadn’t fished much . They’re pretty cheap , I got five gold bladed ones and five silver bladed ones for $12.95 and tax off the big online retailer.
The lures only weigh .7g , but with the Iprimi setup I was getting 30-35’ casts . And that’s with a 9mph wind with gusts .
The little bass had the Iprimi doubled over, with a bend into the grip .
I threw win a couple colorful ones . Most were what I always called “butterbean brim “ .
Fun way to kill time while I’m waiting for the wife to have her hair done .

Great looking set up. Certainly must be sensitive
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alonggillchaser999 LIKED above post
Not really .
Being a XXUL The rod is so whippy , you lose sensitivity.
It’s not a jig fishing rod , it’s more of a lure tossing, cranking rod .
But it lets you get every bit of fight those little fish give .
I didn’t like it the first time I fished it , I’ve had to adapt to it .
Casting is definitely a learning process.
Accepting its limitations , it’s a very fun rod to fish with .

I’m glad to hear you say that about the whippy rods. One of my first UL rods was glass and it took a while to adjust to it. Fish were fun and I can’t tell you if it was sensitive, I’ve slept since then. Sounds like fun with those fish anyway you look at it.
