Great job Ketchn. All the Kids ketchn and smiles all around. I wouldn't worry too much about him not wantin' to hold the fish at this stage, He'll be grabbin'them and removin' the hook himself soon enough...Congrats and thank you for the ride along...

it aint me worrying bout holding them fisheez , its his dad , he is a country boy since time began and a true Texas rancher , he lives the outdoor life , but as stated the lil one is only 4 and probably knows a fish can fin ya .....
next time I will bring some fish pliers and try it that way first , when mini was 3 a gill finned her and it took a couple a years for her to want to EVEN try and ketch another one , never mind holding it ,,,,,

Fun trip for everyone. One of my favorite fishing trips ever was with a bus load of fifth graders on a class field trip and never made a cast. Have a couple grandsons under 2 years old and will try next year to get them started since I was 2 when I caught my first fish and I even remember details of that trip. Dad hooked a small bass and let me reel it in. I thought it was a giant at the time. My earliest memory I was fishing.

I’m with ya Bob. I was four when Dad took my brother and I and I got to catch tiny sunnies while my big brother, 3 years older, got to go for whatever. Sunnies and bread started many folks on a lifetime passion.

I had to be 4 to go in the boat to the salt water with my dad because of mom is worried syndrome….
The neighbor didn’t ever invite me again, him and my dad used live shrimp , ketched not much ….
Put me in the back with frozen shrimp and to this day it is clear as a bell ….
The neighborhood folks went bananas when my dad dumped the ice chest in the driveway….
I filled it up with all kinds of fish and was giving the older anglers instructions on how to ketch fish ….
My dad was in the shocked mode so many species bit frozen shrimp ….
He grew up in Galveston and said this ,,,,, never seen anyone ketch a Spanish mackerel on frozen shrimp
