    Default I felt like Randy

I’ve watched a bunch of Randy’s videos and today was my day. My first four pics are time stamped 14 minutes apart. Came out of the box strong and drove my expectations real high for the day with the first fish on the second cast. I found two areas that held a bunch of fish that I didn’t know about before today. I took pics for most of them but then the heat got up some and I just quit taking them, and I’m not going to post all I took, there’s that many! I’m confident that my catch of bluegills alone was over 40 with the majority coming on a hand tie of mine with rubber silli legs. Successive casts for a while, I know my heart rate was up some. As I’m loading up on these fish, something moves in the background of the hole I was fishing. My first thought was Coyote but it wasn’t. Pigs, about 6 of them or so, just eased on by and couldn’t have cared less about me being close by. This went on for over an hour and a half until they had enough of me and quit biting. I moved on to another place that had been good to me before. While there was fish there and they were good ones it wasn’t as it had been on the last full moon. Packed up about 1130 after NiNo meeting up with me and getting a few fish too. He got a drum that we don’t see much here, must’ve weighed about two pounds. Quite a fight on a light 4lb rig. Now I have to sit and tie about 5 more jigs like the one I used today, which shed its chenille after about 35 or more fish. Hope y’all get out and get a few soon, today was a very good one for me. Til next time…..Skeet

Those two were the first of the day just a few minutes apart. Two more like them, one each, followed in the next few casts.

And this was the jig of the day. The body has a flashy wooly bugger chenille that I think made the difference. When it came loose and was cut off the jig didn’t work as well but it still caught fish.

And of course the pretty boys showed up too, a couple of them better than average.

First time I’ve seen two or maybe a split gill tab.

And then to top it all off, NiNo and I doubled up. That’s another rare thing. Great fun trying to get a two boat selfie done.

And lest I forget, got another one that barely squeezed over the ten mark.

Wow ! What an awesome morning!
    Bet you’re still smiling!
Don’t remember ever seeing a spilt gill fin like that . Neat . Beautiful colors!
The thunderstorms and showers kept me home this morning.
