    Default Weekly Meetup 6-05-23

My buddy met me at house this morning and we drove less than twenty minutes to a 650 acre water reservoir . Launched my 14’ Alumacraft and had a four plus hours of panfish catching .
Most were in the 4-6” range with a few 7-8” inches .
My buddy caught a nice UL bass on a Roostertail.
My biggest bluegill was just over 8 1/4” and put a nice bend in my 5’6” St Croix Premier ultralight that I had paired up with a Shimano Nasci 500 reel .
I took four rods but my SC Premier and my 6’ Daiwa Trout X XUL were used 99% of the time . My Trout X was paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000s . Both were spooled with 2# Floroclear.
My total catch was 51 while my buddy fishing behind me caught 25 .
I ,of course , lost my biggest fish , probably a bass , that the hook pulled loose while I was getting my little net ready . Had another cut me off , most likely a chain pickerel.
We’re planning another trip next week .
Pics of the better gills and my bud’s bass .

This would be a perfect lake for my Daiwa Iprimi XXUL .
I’ll be taking it next time .

I’m really glad to see the boat back in play. That’s a good bunch of fish. Yet another good trip among friends. You’re both fortunate guys.

    I think it was !
I like quantity as much as I do quality. And I saw enough to make me want to go back asap.
The lake is 650 acres and we only fished a small part of it .
I caught three small shellcracker, there’s got to be bigger ones in there somewhere.
