    Those mussels must be like a steak and a baked potato to those fish. They’re beasts out there. The Great Lakes have been cleaned up by the zebra and quagga mussels, you have to wonder if they’re big up there too. The goby’s up there have made the smallmouth fishery superb, 5# fish are common I’m told. I want one of those on 4# line! I might want to bring a sammich.

    WOW- I always wondered what an 18 lb California largemouth ate! Beast of a fish for sure!

    6-8" farm raised trout. Those big fish are very few now that the trout stocking has been canceled do to the city budget.
    They do feast on bluegill tho, but those trout were protein bars.
    Hatchery closures etc.have been the normal.

Size:  199.5 KB While fishing Lake Havasu when we pulled the anchor we brought up a rock with some quagga mussels on it, these are what the giant redear eat to get so big.
