That's what California reservoirs look like, there clear canyon lakes, up to 300 ft deep.
This lake reopened 2016 after raising the dam 117 ft.
The original dam was built in 1943.
There is video of the release, park rangers weight and verified on calibrated scale.

    Not a career.

    Ketchn,
We are on the Colorado river water system, I believe it is the mussels.
Our Lakes are growing with hybrid stains as well, the guy that caught the record fish is a kayak fisherman. He fishes both saltwater and fresh.

I remember Sonny’s reports from LP in Cali. He was always catching monsters. Hope he is doing well…

Last thing I heard was from one of his fishin' partners when I was inquiring about that panfish bug lure him and his daughter came up with. LP had closed the marina to build a new one. Sonny's Pontoon was kept theier. when it closed Sonny sold the pontoon as he lived somewhere near Riverside, Ca. and couldn't see the expense of haulin' it back and forth. That was a couple years aga before the pandemic China caused. I haven't seen or heard nothing from or about him since, though I think of him often. Sure hope he's doin' alright and the Lord is looking after him.

Our state record Shellcracker was a 4#2oz caught back in 1995 out of a South Georgia pond .
I’m betting there’s a few nice ones in West Point Reservoir I fish on a regular basis.
The banks are loaded with mussel shells .
We’ve caught some nice ones , but nothing that size .
