I’ll be interesting to hear others chime in .
I’ve always heard that two days before through two days after is prime time.
But I’ve never let moon phase keep me from wetting a line .
BTW , I only fish on days that end with a Y .

Most folks say around full moon!
but I have had better success around the new moon!
and a lot less pressure during that time !
    Too blessed to be stressed!

I kept meticulous records for a lot of years. I too used to get all hyped up about the full moon. My records told me it did not matter. The spawn was random. I no longer keep records but my YouTube channel still tells the tale…if you are counting on the full moon to get you fish you are going to be disappointed a lot.

    Regards

I’m not sure about the moon phase being the best indicator. I’ve blown that apart catching good numbers way off the full moon. But I can tell that today wasn’t bad.

    Skeetbum,
    That's a sweet setup, is that a st.croix rod.
I've always found it a little slower fishing on a full moon.

I used to plan trips according to moon phases and now I've quit putting much stock in it, I know I'll be going anyway

Bigfishinfreak, that’s one of the rods I built. It’s a 6’ Fenwick blank rated 2-6lb line. For the way I fish it’s very comfortable.

I'll fish anytime for em but I tend to catch more of the bigger females real close to a new moon.
