    Default Bald Knob Lake

Hot out here in Arkansas. The fishing was hot at Bald Knob Lake for about an hour. Caught 18 shell cracker and two bluegill. They fell prey to a Bison and Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet on a 1.5 gram Range Cross jig head with a #8 hook. Used Varivas Twitch Master 3# test on a Zenon 2000 SH reel….. if one has to use nylon line Twitch Master is the way to go. The Lunakia 63 rod gave me a ton of fun….makes a great panfish and trout rod. The 63 is all about the soft tip with extremely fast butt. Fish just hook themselves with this rod. While certainly not the size shell cracker I would have preferred it was only a short drive…plus had the place to myself….which I find odd. Had more fun than allowed by the law. Life is good!

Those are some good fish from the dock. I always enjoy it when everyone else doesn’t know it’s time to fish and they stay home. Doesn’t happen often here. Medium size or large, I just like catching shellcracker. Bluegill with an attitude.

Randy… how would you compare and contrast the 63 Lunakia with the 62 Diplomat Extreme?

Well....the Diplomat is slower....but just as sensitive as the Luna. I wish I could articulate better as the rods are really different. The Diplomat was the first rod that I had seen where the marketing talked about it being "automatic hooking". I thought that was BS until I fished the rod. The tip is so soft that the fish dos not feel the lure until it is too late. If you know anything about area trout fishing in Japan then you know why these rods are like this....those fish are pressured so much they are hard to hook...one needs all the advantage you can get. When fishing the Luna for trout it is not quiet automatic hooking but close. The bank on the Diplomat is much thinner, and lighter. If I am into larger fish I would prefer to have the Luna.

    Regards
