Nothing wrong with that at all.
My fishing buddy and I met up around 11:30 at the boat ramp we ended at last week .
The fish just weren’t there like last week , and I only caught a couple small green sunfish .
We moved up lake to another ramp . The water wasn’t as clear , but the wind was better and a few fish were more cooperative.
I caught a crappie a sunfish , four gills and a nice spotted bass .
This week I fished my 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat rod , but I paired it with my Shimano Sienna 500 . A three ballbearing , roller bearing UL reel spooled with 2# Crystal Clear P-line .
Most were caught on a black Trout Magnet.
The little Sienna performed great . If I were blind folded and handed this reel and the more expensive Soare BB , I wouldn’t be able tell the difference in the reels except for the size of the handle paddle .
A little secret , the drag on the bottom of the line Sienna is the same felt and stainless steel washer drag thats found on the more expensive Shimano’s .
When we got to the second ramp we could hear thunder off in the distance. As it got closer , we decided to make one more move .
I’m glad we did . We got to fish another thirty minutes or so before the rain started and I was able to catch another green sunfish and another nice spotted bass that took up half of my fishing time before it would allow me to beach it on the boat ramp.
My buddy didn’t have as good of luck, only catching five green sunfish and a bluegill .
Another great time with a great friend .

That’s a good spot! Your trip and day was better than mine. Glad that you and your friend found a few and beat the rain. I didn’t do so good on the rain part Saturday. Ended the day with a wet butt.

If you’ll notice the riprap in the crappie pic . That’s the key . The green sunfish and other small fish as well as crawfish and other small creatures live around those rocks . Bass and other fish use the rocks as a buffet. They must think the Trout Magnet is either a crawfish or small baitfish. Maybe some kind of aquatic insect.
Whatever they think it is , they recognize it as food .
BTW , a boat came in to load up at the side of the double ramp I was fishing .
I moved off to the side while they loaded up .
As usual, the boater gunned his motor and stirred up the whole area loading his boat onto the trailer .
You would think this would disturb the fish , but they’re used to it . I actually think it stirs up the bait in the area drawing in the bigger fish .
I caught my largest bass within two minutes after they pulled the trailer out . The water was still swirling.
I love fishing boat ramps .

ifish talks of that also. I always used to work them when I bass fished and did well. I always thought the concrete edges were an ambush point.
