    Default Pond fishing trip

I got out early yesterday and started fishing around 8am. Using my old reliable 1/48 chub head duck feather jig with a #10 hook tipped with a maggot and the fish cooperated the whole time I was out. Ended up with 4 bass, 8 crappie and 40-50 bluegill. Most of the bluegill were in the 7-8 " range and put a nice bend on my ultralight. Nothing spectacular but nice to see that float go down on a regular basis.

I needed an outing like this after my last trip. I went hybrid striper fishing Sunday and lost two giants after long runs when the hook pulled and I was using 4/0 Trokar hooks. Got a good look at both since they hit close and think both would have been PB'S so still stuck at 9.25lbs. Still can't get those fish out of my head. The pond trip help ease the pain a little.
