I use Varivas ES2 Lemoni polyester line in 2.3# test. Varivas also makes Hi-Vis nylon and FC lines also. As to soaking lines in water...while it will relax a line when you first soak it as soon as it drys out it goes back to what it was. And if you live where you have hard water those minerals will stay in the line. I just left a place in TN with extremely hard water. Nice to be in Arkansas that has some of the softest water in the country. If one has to soak their line to get it to spool properly then you are using the wrong line. I don't have line issues...none....so I suggest to those having line issues just to get a premium line.
Regards
i am using Varivas Super Trout Advance Sight Edition 4#. Great line for a line watcher like me.
Currently using Vicious Panfish Copolymer 6# test, and have been for the last several years. The only time it gets "soaked in water" is when I'm fishing. I get the "memory coils" out of it (after weeks/months of non-use) by tying it off and stretching it, then cutting it loose and winding it back on the spool under finger tension as it drags thru the grass. This relaxes the line from the stretching, then takes out a lot of the coils from dragging thru the grass.
I have used the line treatment, Real Magic from TTI Blakemore, in the past. It did seem to help, but the stretching/dragging method is cheaper.

I've fallen in love with this. Limp and smooth. Casts a country mile. Seriously.

Another vote for the Varivas super trout sight edition. I use it in 4lb and 6lb, but many of my reels have Varivas braid.
Vicious Line in 6# test. I longline troll and snag/break off enough that I am constantly re-lining my spools. I couldnt afford expensive line. HA!

I use the Varivas for my casting and jigging and dipping rods. I use Mr Crappie line or Slime line too, for trolling. On a few of my rod for trolling I do have braid though, never have to retie them, and don't worry about gars with that stuff on, but other than for those two reasons, I'm not a big fan of braid.
