    Default UL Bassing part II

Stormed all night last night up through most of the morning.
I left the house in a drizzle around 11:40 headed to the Town Pond .
I could see specks of blue sky by the time I reached the pond .
The pond was over full .
I fished a Trout Magnet for a while and caught one small bass on my 6’6” TFO UL rod paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000s and 4# P-Line .
After about 20 minutes without another bite , I switched over to a size 0 jig spinner and chartreuse Slider grub .
Wound up catching two more small bass to save the day .
I’d rather catch gills , but I’ll take anything to keep the skunk away .
Plus , They’re fun on UL too .

Those fish are a bit bigger than what I'm used to here out of the river. Lot of fun to catch though!

    Default UL Bassing Part III

Got to the Town pond this morning, it was sunny , mid fifties.
My first cast with a Slider Grub and jig caught a little LM .
I didn’t make more than two turns on the reel handle when it hit .
I’ve always heard it’s bad luck to caught a fish on your first cast . I thought great , now I’ll go fishless the rest of the day .
After about 15 minutes of no more bites I switched over to a float and jig and tried several smaller plastic bodies and a few hand tied jigs trying to catch a bluegill , but they weren’t biting .
The wind picked up and I switched back to a 1/32 jig with a smoke glitter slider grub , and caught three more little bass .
When that bite died I switched to a chartreuse glitter Slider and a 1/16 jighead , but didn’t catch another until I added a jig spinner .
Ended up with five small bass .
Fun fishing on my 13 Fishing Defy Silver 6’6” UL rod paired with a 1000 Daiwa Fuego LT and 4#P-line .
While the gills are taking a break , I’ll glad the little bass are willing to give me some action .
I just figured out one of the things I like gills over bass , the bass all look the same .

I’ll take some of that! Glad you got out. It’s cabin fever time and you gotta get out when you can.
