He’d be a brute to land if he got to be ten inches. Neat fish.

These guys came to visit today. There was several small gill varieties that I just didn’t get pics of, mostly redbreast which were active today.

    I agree with that Tim.
It’s strange that this creek and millpond are the only place I’ve caught any of them .
    With our state record being 11oz , I’m not sure I’ll ever encounter a 10” one .

A many posts ago I uploaded a fella caught chasing a top water crank meant for their mom and pop, but no taker....Micro fishing Photos. As soon as switched over to a second rod with dropshot rigged with black knat size 18, I landed 3 of them cuties!! Good catch, Spoon!

We are in what I’ve always been told were the dog days of summer. 90’s+ daytime and it only gets down into the mid 70’s by morning.
I left the house it was already in the lower eighties and twenty minutes later I got to my first stop and it was already 87 with a heat index in the mid 90’s . We talking 10am .
I caught five small fish at Lake McIntosh and moved to the old mill creek and caught six total .
The largest was a PB for a spotted sunfish , that I caught in the mill pond above the dam .
Until yesterday I’d only caught three of these rare little fish and in two days I’ve caught four .
I fished my 5’ St Croix Avid UL’s but today I’d spooled my Shimano Soare XR and my new Presso 1000 with 2# Floroclear.
So much easier to cast the micro spinners I’ve been using.
Just ordered those cool looking spinners as you mentioned in another post, from Amazon. Hope to catch a few with b4 winter lurking around. Love those purple hue on the spotted sunfish, Gill!

Visited an old marina, part of Colorado river tributary and was skunk on trout and BIG striped bass due to heavy under growth. Once switched over to dropshot for dinks lurking among vegetation yield 7 post-spawn baby stripers....my PB micro, hehe.Name: 20230811_180300.jpg
