    Japanese Tanago fishing involves using tiny hook to catch bitterlings, known as Tanago, with red worms or flour based gluten bait. Yesterday I got to play around with a XXul 3' rod at a pond dock catching micro panfish with artificial (chunks of trout magnet plastic) only.     LV, you might look into Sabiki rigs. Used for catching bait they have multiple tiny hooks with a touch of color on each and they’re inexpensive. Looks about like what you were using.

    I caught a couple of baby redears this morning while chasing micros gills .
    Pretty little redbreast too .

    Skeet, I've used Sabiki rig before long ago for catching live baits for my surf excursions. It certainly would work with baby gills, but now I'm mostly 1-hook kind of fisherman.
