    Default New spot catches

    Getting pretty close to the Ohio river with this spot. Caught two Largemouth Bass (another first for me in this creek) with the first one having red eyes, a pigment variation which looks really cool. Probably a dozen Smallies with the nicest being a 16"er. Finally, found a tree down in this section that was holding a nice gill, good to catch another panfish. Most sections of this creek in my area have had the banks cleared for flood control. Very pleased with finding this spot.Name: DSC02761.jpg

    [QUOTE=gillchaser999;4292121]Nice looking spot !

    gillchaser,
    This area is off a long dead end road with only a few houses on it. A old high school friend lives there. It is a very nice secluded spot, but beating through that Japanese knot weed along the banks is a pain. That stuff is along all waterways up this way. As not having fished creeks much previously, finding out you better be VERY careful and not be taking chances. (spills, muck, steep banks, etc.) Lots of stuff to be aware of all the time.

    That’s what keeps me from doing too much exploring. We have some big moccasins , copperheads , and Timber rattler’s down here too .

    That’s a great looking spot and a couple of nice fish. I’ve known folks that took weed eaters and made a trip to open up some spots to fish later. My sawzall with a 10” tree trimming blade might help with some of the tougher stuff. Looks like it might be worth trying that there.
