    Default Reel for TCB

Went out fishing again, but the sticks and weeds got in the way. Thinking about upgrading my line from 2lb to 4lb line to avoid losing as many jigs, but I figured I'd get a new reel so I can swap between 2lb and 4lb line for trout and panfishing respectively.

Does anyone have recommendations for a reel for 2lb fluorocarbon on the TCB?

Price range around 50 or so.

BnM Pro 50 is what I paired mine with. Their website says sold out at the moment though.

That's what I have currently, I'm planning to use that with the 4lb line for panfish. It's a nice reel, but I noticed they were sold out. I've seen people talk about the Pfluger president and daiwa regal. Thinking about one of those now.

I have presidents as well but for my taste they are too heavy I for that rod. IMHO of course.

That was one of my concerns. From a forum search it seemed a number of people used them, so I wasn't sure if it would be good anyway.

As others have said, Pflueger 20 size or if you can spend a little more the Daiwa Legalis is a real sweet reel for the money. Smooth drag and handles 2 lb mono (American test 4+) just fine.

I have a Diawa regal LT 1000 on my TSS which is the sam rod. I love mine and the drag is velvet smooth. Balance is at the index finger and casting is as good or better than any of the others I own. With 10 bearings it’s also super smooth operation with little effort to get it moving. I gave $60 for mine at academy.

I'll check out the legalis. I've always used cheaper reels, is it really worth the price increase to go to a 60-70 dollar reel?
