Great catches, im glad you were able to get out for awhile !
We all have a list for that and mine is no different. Been a rough few weeks since I got the new to me boat, as yet un named. Throat feels like someone took a grinder to it and no saliva or taste. I bought some parts to rig the boat to my liking and I’ve been trying to get it put together. Then there’s the heat. One of my meds doesn’t let me out long in higher temps and I have little stamina lately so about two hours a day and I’m done. If I’m lucky it cools off enough that I might get a little done in the evening but not usually. She’s as complete as she’s gonna be for the near future and I took advantage of being up early this morning.
Took four rods and my box of tricks and set off. In at 8 and out at 11. Skipped my usual starting point because of the heat and went to where I found the crackers a while back. And I wasn’t disappointed. No crackers but the gills were awake and ready to play. Caught around 20 and got broken off 4 or 5 times. The last two took my leader and I didn’t have any replacement with me. Most of the gills were dinner sized but a few smaller ones came to see me. Hammer handle Gar were everywhere. No bass, no crackers, no Warmouth today. Stayed til the heat got to bothering me and headed home. Was kinda tired by then anyway. Fighting a nap to write this. Pretty morning with no wind and lots of mother natures symphony to help me relax. Just what the doctor ordered. I’m doing OK with all of the predicted side effects showing their ugly faces but with just over another week and a half of treatment left and seeing improvement, I can tough out this last bit and deal with it. Sure beats the alternative. Thanks for reading and looking in on me. Mostly, heartfelt thanks for all the prayers and check ins that everyone has done in my behalf. It makes a big difference in my morale lately. Here’s a few pics, hope to see y’all out soon……Skeet
