Never tried em but know many that swear by them. All I will add is that colors are a local thing and what works for me may not catch a fish on your waters. Just don’t load your box on recommendations but try new colors and see what works for you.
That is no doubt true. A cheap investment is a panfish variety pack and try the colors out under different conditions. That said, Bison seems to be a universal color that based on what I have read is good all over the US.

A drop of mineral oil will keep plastics for ever in boxes or bags .

Yes I dabbled with that for a number of years. I found that it doesn't matter.

Sorry guys, but K.I.S.S. seems to apply to this post.
Okay, so, Trout Magnets are good especially under a float, Crappie Magnets get bit just as often and by EVERYTHING that swims - not just gills. Using the larger lure allow me to use a bit large hook and slightly heavier jig for longer casts.

Color - Pretty much most Magnet colors catch fish regardless the time of year or water color. The magic of the design is in the split tails. Something about their quiver......

Strorage - I mix different shapes and colors of soft plastics together in the same storage areas - even in a plastic snack bags when in a hurry, and colors don't rub off between lures stored together.

Plastics are NOT affected by the sun or heat when it comes to softness. A few colors may fade a bit but that's it; most are colorfast. (I dip the faded ones in Spike-It dye.)

If a soft plastic lure becomes waterlogged having been left in the rain, I let it dry and it's back to normal.

If a lure becomes deformed by not keeping it straight during storage or right from the factory, I soak it in hot water for a minute and then lay it out straight on a flat surface. Rejunenates deformed lures every time.

That has been my experience as well. I usually rig it black side up, but works both ways.

Most of the time I use a 1.5 gram jig head....sometimes going to a 2 gram. I have found over the years that anything over that and your catch rate goes down with a TM. Using a 1.5 gram jig head and a sinking polyester line I can fish down to 25 feet and keep it there.

1 gram, 1.5 gram, 1/32 oz, 1/24 oz and 1/16 oz depending on cast distance and depth worked. Hook size: #6 for CM's and #8 for TM's. JMO
