Default I could hear the Bullfrogs' calling me .....

in Missouri, we of course went on vacation , Vrbo gave me a spot by the lake that was cheap as it gets. Now I really had no idea what was going to be up with the fish there ,and only packed 2 break down rods and a box of handtie jigs . I did also have a bottle of crappie nibbles and a few floats.
I did not visit there to actually ketch fish much , but figured I could if I had the chance it would happen and sure enough I made a few moments here and there to pitch a jig.
Our agenda was Branson and it was 20 minutes down the road , but when I picked the spot we stayed I had no idea it was a public trout fishing area. I also had no idea the spot we chose was the white river.
Well, the man upstairs smiled on me and as I wandered to and fro near our little cabin , I saw just enormous amounts of bream and bass in the grass mats near the shore . One boat launching told me the water temp. was 63 and the bass should be spawning ?
No clue ,but for sure down the way a bit , there was a clear water area with just herds of bream doing it in the lack of grass mat area !
The sunfish were up tight to the bank and really frisky and wouldn't let a yellow handtie go past them without a fight! Even had my line broke by one of them and think one of the fish was a male red ear ? not sure but it was looking like one to me ?
I was using an Xtreme light rod with a little open faced reel on it and it was just big time fun.
They apparently do lots of up and down with the water there and the next time to the spot the water was a foot lower and the fish were gone ! Released the fish and went on to the next chapter of where and how to ketcha few fish in Missouri .......
KABOOM is the word ya 'll .....
p.s. chapter 2 was "why not give them Missouri trout a good whoopin as well"
