Catching panfish in the two local creeks I have been fishing continues to be a challenge. Pitched a small plastic bait up against the bank today and caught my fourth rock bass. He's a little one and still have only managed one gill to date. Not that I'm not having fun, all the Smallies, and the occasional Sauger, Channel Cat, Drum & Trout have been a blast. Pics also show two of the larger Smallies that hit a small Beetle spin today. A young guy showed up today with a couple of heavy duty baitcasting outfits. He caught a few and skipped them across the water reeling in, which didn't look like much fun. Talked for a good while, he was sort of amused at my ultra light gear. Said he had never saw a spinnerbait that small. Laughed and told him I hadn't come up against anything yet in these creeks that the UL gear couldn't handle. However, he did say he is working on setting up a BFS combo for the creeks. And he is the second person I have met at this stretch of creek who has a goal of catching gar. Said he had already caught one on a crankbait at this location. Always a fun time when decent people show up while fishin.Name: DSC02398.jpg
