    Default Creek Redbreast Friday

Although it’s about a twenty five minute drive to the creek .
    I love fishing there .
Fishing moving is different and you never know what you’re going to catch.
I spent an hour and half fishing and caught 12 , mostly redbreast .
And the colors of these creek fish are off the chart .
Fished my 6’ TFO 2wt for my first catch , then switched over to my 7’ 3wt St Croix Imperial .
The longer rod did good for creek fishing .
One of the larger fish I caught was a bluegill shellcracker hybrid that put up a heck of a fight on the 3wt .
The hybrid got a little dirty trying to get him to keep still for a picture . He was still fighting.

Nice fish, especially that last one. Glad you got out and found some. Pretty place to fish.

Wow! Right on about the colors on those fish. Looks like you're fishing right below a dam? Sure wish I could get into more panfish in the creeks up this way.

It’s an old mill and dam . A landmark here in the county I live in .
Folks are always stopping and taking pictures of the mill and the dam . I have fished the pond above the dam , but have better luck in the creek below .
I need to try the pond again with my boat . Years ago my brother caught a big pickerel up there and had a friend said he caught a seven pound LM .
Full of vegetation. Might be some big gills further up the creek .
Future trip this fall when the weather cools off .
