With all the heat we have been having I just did not want to fool with putting the boat in somewhere…yet I wanted to fish and have good probability of catching fish. Decided to bank fish off the dam at Laurel Hill Lake…turned out to be a good decision. Fished this spot a lot over the years in the summer. Stayed way too long in the heat but brought 100 bluegill to hand…the vast majority 8-8.5 inch fish. Used 3 colors Trout Magnet…Root Beer Float…..Bison, and Sow Bug…Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram jig head #8 hook. Rod used was Major Craft Fine Tail Banshee 6 foot Super Ultra Light strung up with 2.3# test Ester line. Pretty neat to stay in one place and not move and be on fish all day. This is not a bedding area..the fish move there after spawn and hang out there all summer in about 7-10 feet of water. Notice the beautiful colors on these fish. Life is good!

Regards
