Peaceful looking place to enjoy. Rockbass have always been part of Pa's fishery, as they have always been in rivers and creeks. So when they made Shenango Lake, they are there too. But you don't catch them much, like you think you should. Don't know why that is.

    S-10,
No trouble finding the Smallies but those were the only rock bass I have caught so far. Using smaller baits mostly, so I was hoping to run into them more often unless there is just not a lot of them in these two creeks. I watched a guy catch two walleyes a week or so ago also and haven't connected on those either, either it's me or those are just occasional catches (right place, right time)? Thanks.

Great report. The rod in the first picture looks like a Norseman vas. Such a pleasure to fish with for the cost.

brings back memories for me , hit lots of small creeks in Pa. and some other states close by when I was a kid , never managed many rock bass in any of them , but for sure some nice smallies in a few and some big whopper chubs that were rascals too .
looks nice , congrats , cant just go walk in the creek around here much , this part of the world don't have many wet ones and when they are it is most likely private land.

You take what the water gives you!

I like that Bob. Never thought about it like that but it’s very appropriate. Been doing it most of my life. I might go looking for one fish but get a bunch of another and not be disappointed. The fish are only part of it all anyway.

That is so true, and being out there away from the crowd is a very big part of it for me.
