Default Slow morning @ the pond

Overcast skies when I arrived , partly to mostly cloudy when I left . Humid !
The pond has been disappointing lately .
Only caught two gills , both on top with foam bugs . One LM on a size 12 beadhead woolybooger .
The LM was fun on the 3wt flyrod .
I took two 6’7” 3wt flyrods , supposed to be identical except for color . These are fast glass rods And they seem to load better with a heavier WF line . The blue one had a 5wt line , the white one , a 6wt .
I actually couldn’t tell the difference in their casting . Both would roll cast 50’ .

Well, at least it looks like the algae is not bothering you now. Good pics.

I just fish the side of the pond on the side the wind blows to the other side.
I also switched to fishing in the morning before the algae starts floating to the top.

Nice! I’m surprised you had to up the line weight that much, but whatever works!

Bob , that’s one thing about fiberglass rods . They’ll tolerate a wide range of line weights .
I don’t need to make long casts , so a heavier line weight loads the rod for easier short casts .
With limited room behind me at most places at the pond shorter casts and roll casts are the norm .

I call that a good trip. Nothing broken, fish caught, no fish to clean. All good. And I’m not sure I can still do a roll cast.
